About The Open Shutter & Chris
ABOUT THE OPEN SHUTTER:
The Open Shutter has served the North Central Ohio area since 1997 specializing in Child, Family, Business Portraits and high school Senior Portraits. Chris Miller, photographer and owner, displays her passion in the portraits she creates for her clients with quality, variety, responsibility and custom oriented service.
Recently, The Open Shutter has undergone a redesign of its business track. Chris is still available for sessions, just on a very limited availability. Her business has changed from being a custom studio in Norwalk Ohio to a destination oriented photographer based in Fairbanks, Alaska.
When working with Chris, she will ask numerous questions about what you are wanting for your final portrait, who will be in the portrait, where you want your portrait created and other important factors you want to personalize your final image. With this knowledge, she will guide you on clothing that will be flattering for you and the location, along with other elements to make the image all you want it to be. All she asks is that you are open with any ideas and preferances.
ABOUT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER:
Chris Miller is a professional photogrpaher specializing in child, high school senior and family portraiture. Specializing in children has given her not only great joy, but the experience has been invaluable with working with these amazing, expressive, active little people. Chris guarantees her work. If she cannot get what you want, you are out only your time.
Chris' love of photography started at a very early age. She purchased her first SLR film camera at the age of 10 from the money she had saved and earned for over a year working on the famly farm. She has been photographing professionally since 1991. Then following the birth of her daughter, opened her studio in 1997, The Open Shutter. Over the past 25 years of photographing families and children she has experienced a full circle of growth... the babies she photographed when she first started are now having babies of their own. With a thankful heart it brings her happiness watching families grow up knowing that she is capturing those memories and milestones for them.
In 1996, Chris was certified by the Professional Photographers of Ohio. In recent years she has also earned her Master Degree and Photographic Craftsman Degree from The Professional Photographers of America. Chris has also been on the speakers circut sharing her style and knowledge of photography with her collegues. All of which have been great honors.
Currently, Chris is redirecting her time and energy into further education and artistic influences, while still running a business and photographing families, children, and high school seniors.
Chris' love for photogrpahy has given her many opportunities she wouldn't have experienced otherwise. It has also given her incentive to explore her creativity and artistry.
