In this technical world we live in, I often feel I have lost my human connection to other humans. So I am rebelling a bit and going analog. I miss getting joy mail, you know, the mail that isn't a bill. Social media likes & comments or emails from family and friends all seem to get lost in the day. But Joy Mail hangs around for awhile, something to view, to hold, to enjoy. Always makes me smile.

WHO IS THIS FOR....

This is for those that love to get joy mail, a little art, a little story, all for the fun of getting mail.

I want to share my joy, share my story, share the story of the images I have taken. Each month I will compile a theme with a numbered & signed mini art print, a postcard you can keep or send to someone, a Pass it Forward Card and a letter from me.

I am looking forward to this little journey. I hope you join me!

WHY NORTHLIGHT FIELD NOTES

This is how I came about the name of NorthLight Field Notes.

In photography, light is obviously a major element. In portraiture, the North Light is a softer, directional light that is beautiful for shaping the face. It is directional without the harshness of the south light. In Alaska, the light is amazing, especially during the winter months. It is like golden hour all day long. Also, I am a big fan of the Northern Lights, aka Aurora Borealis. The North Star is a shining light for direction. So with all these light influences, the NorthLight just felt right. Field notes... this is where I get to share the process of the image(s) I've sent to you. It could be why I chose a subject, where it was taken, what direction I took in the post processing, what emotional attachment I have to it, or why I chose to send it and share it with you.

WHAT MAKES THESE SPECIAL...

It's about the joy. It is about sharing my joy in hope of spreading a little joy in your world.

As mentioned above, each envelope sent will include a note about what is on my heart or where my latest inspiration is coming from. I will also include a limited edition art print, this is the value piece. It is a 5x7 printed on high quality art paper, titled, numbered (because it is a limited edition) and finished with my signature. These prints are exclusively for you and I do not offer these prints anywhere else. I also will send a postcard for you to share or keep. You will also receive a few words of encouragement. Nothing extravagant, it's all about getting some joy mail. A little bit of sunshine. And it is all analog... no social media, no internet, no politics, no wifi needed. Just a note, so grab a cup of coffee and a comfy chair. I hope each envelope brings you a little joy.

WHEN ARE THEY SENT...

The first week of every month I will send out your art print and note.

The beginning of every month your note will be sent via snail mail.

Your subscription must be paid by the 15th of the previous month to be guaranteed a letter. Your credit card will be charged at the time of purchase or on the 15th of the month. Your mail will be delivered within the month. If not, please let me know!
